Infineon and Rainforest Connection collaborate to protect the rainforest with advanced sensor technology
【Lansheng Technology Information】Protecting rainforests is an important step in the fight against climate change, but illegal logging and wildfires are threatening some of the most ecologically fragile regions on the planet. Infineon is further extending its cooperation with the NGO Rainforest Connection. The common goal of the two parties is to use modern sensor technology to monitor rainforests and other ecologically fragile areas on the earth.
Rainforest Connection's work is usually carried out with the help of solar-powered equipment called Guardian, which can record and transmit various sounds in the rainforest in real time, and use artificial intelligence to analyze the data to detect damage to the rainforest. Behavioral noises. When the sound of a chainsaw is detected, the device sends an alert and location to local rangers, guiding them to the scene quickly. This helps keep rangers safe and significantly expands rangers' oversight, thereby protecting the planet's existing forests from poaching. To date, Rainforest Connection has deployed more than 500 of these devices in 30 countries, and the organization is currently working on rainforest conservation projects in 25 countries.

These recordings are of high scientific value and help people understand the effectiveness of local biodiversity conservation.
Infineon and Rainforest Connection are collaborating to equip numerous Guardian devices with Infineon's XENSIV™ PAS carbon dioxide sensor, enabling these devices to not only "hear" but also "smell" A database that records biodiversity. In the future, recordings could be correlated with other information such as temperature, humidity, ozone and carbon dioxide levels. From this, Rainforest Connection was able to add CO2 data to their biodiversity analysis to gain deeper insight into the health of the forest and target areas in need of protection. The organization's team also hopes to see if there is a link between carbon dioxide levels and how animals respond to changes in their microclimates.

The overall goal of the ERA-NET Cofund MarTERA is to strengthen the European Research Area (ERA) in maritime and marine technologies as well as Blue Growth. The ERA-NET Cofund MarTERA is a network of 18 ministries, authorities and funding organisations responsible for funding research and innovation projects in maritime and marine technologies from 16 countries.

Differential Pressure Sensor Rounds Up HVAC Portfolio
The EE600 differential pressure sensor extends the product portfolio for HVAC and building automation of the Austrian sensor manufacturer E+E Elektronik.
The transmitter is available with full scale 1,000 Pa (4 inch water column) and 10,000 Pa (40 inch WC) with each four selectable measurement ranges. The piezo-resistive pressure sensing element ensures highly accurate and long-term stable measurements. The innovative enclosure facilitates mounting and minimises installation costs. An optional graphic display shows the actual measured data.
The EE600 is dedicated for the measurement of differential air pressure in ventilation and air conditioning systems or for filter monitoring. Additionally, it can be employed for all non-flammable and non-aggressive gases.
Multi-Range, Fully Configurable
Four measuring ranges (0…250 / 500 / 750 / 1000 Pa or 0…2500 / 5000 / 7500 / 10000 Pa) can be selected via DIP-switches on the electronics board. This makes the EE600 particularly versatile. The output signal and the response time can also be set directly on the board. With push buttons, the user can easily perform a zero and span point adjustment.
Large Graphic Display
The EE600 offers voltage and current output signals, both simultaneously available at the spring terminals. The device can be fitted with a large graphic display. The display backlight and the pressure unit (Pa, mbar, inch WC, kPa) can also be set via DIP-switches on the electronics board.
Installation-Friendly Enclosure
Same as all other HVAC measuring instruments from E+E Elektronik, the EE600 features a robust IP65 / NEMA 4 enclosure, which facilitates fast and easy installation. Due to external mounting holes, it can be mounted with closed cover. This saves time and minimises installation costs. In addition, the electronics is protected against construction site pollution during installation. For US requirements the enclosure provides a knockout for a 1/2″ conduit fitting.
